Reiki

Reiki is a natural healing energy that enhances the bodys natural healing.   In 2006 I became a Reiki master and I now run courses for levels one, two and three (click the link below for more details).
I am a member of the U.K. Reiki Federation and adhere to their codes of ethics and practice.
I believe in continuing professional development and regularly attend Reiki share groups, have practice and discussion with colleagues and read current literature.

What is Reiki ?

The Japanese word Reiki means universal energy. This energy is all around us and flows through all living things. It is a natural healing energy induced by the intention of the healer, who channels the energy to stimulate the body’s self healing ability.

How can Reiki help you ?

Reiki balances the mind, body and spirit enhancing life in general. It can induce a meditative state, which then can accelerate healing. The recipient automatically draws the amount of energy needed and uses it as required. Reiki can be experienced as tingling, warmth, pulsations or nothing.

What happens during a Reiki session ?

The session generally lasts for one hour, but less is required for animals or children (up to half an hour). The client remains fully clothed, removing watches and glasses etc. Most treatments are carried out while the client lies on a couch, but can be done in a seated position if necessary. The eyes remain closed throughout and playing of soft music is optional. The practitioner can channel the energy with his or her hands on or above the body in the aura (energy field surrounding the body). Personal details and a brief medical history will be taken at the start of the session and records of the clients response to the treatment will also be recorded.

What conditions can Reiki help ?

Reiki can: -

  • Improve quality of life
  • Lift depression
  • Increase energy
  • Stimulate motivation
  • Balance mind and body
  • Relax and calm mind and body
  • Help with insomnia

Above are a list of examples, however Reiki can help with many other problems. Please ring for a chat if your concerns are not listed.

Reiki as a complementary health practice.

Reiki should not be viewed as an alternative to orthodox medicine or health care. A G.P. should always be consulted for acute, infectious or urgent conditions. However Reiki can complement orthodox health care and is now used in hospitals and other institutions to aid well being and accelerate the journey toward good health. Reiki is also used in hospices and may help a terminally ill person to relax, become calm and adjust to their situation.
